I have an opinion of poles!

I have used all kinds of poles and some are way better than others. I have gotten better at 'mono'ing due to the fact that it is not uncommon to ski with A pole for the day, after breaking one.
Poles fall into four main categories: Extension, Aluminium, Composite, and Carbon.

Got out to my local hill for opening weekend and shot some video. They only had one run open, so it wasn't anything fantastic. I was just doing some warm up laps and playing with my helmet camera.

Mounting patterns: In general, a square or rectangular mount pattern with 4 holes in the toe and 4 or more in the heel are what you should choose to use on a monoski. 3 hole toe mounts or diamond shaped mounting patterns can not handle the strain most riders put on their monoskis. Mounting plates also have some effect on screw retention and thicker phenolics hold onto these 3 hole and diamond shaped bindings better than aluminums, glass or other...

Hi everyone,

Been monoboarding around 2 times now through last year and am probably going to go much more this season since all my friends want to get one. I don't want to use crappy equipment. And so I come to ask for your help in finding the right monoboard. I'm listing two, that I should not get for sho. Please feel free to recommend something that is for newbie and with good Ptex .

Not to buy:
-Coda- suck and hard to use
-Duret- break like...

There are a few of us, all operating in a factory direct fashion. Monoskis would be much more expensive if it weren't for us having NO retail participation unless we our giving our products to the retailers to sell and rent.

I have been working on putting together a Monoboarding video that I can put on a DVD and it is finished. It is broken into 13 chapters and all but one chapter is now on YouTube. I will have the DVD's along with the annual CODA monoboard for the raffle at MP this year.

With the epic pass does this allow you to get a deal on daily rates at the ticket window??????
{ Cus me skiing with mrs powder hunter for 9 ish days if the knee opps works out}

Who's been riding on the Look, Rossi and Dynastar bindings

So who's been testing the bindings Duret is going to be using on their riser systems?

I'm guessing most Look, Rossi and Dynastar bindings are reasonable. I saw Troys Look demos last year and they felt really solid.

I know Duret and ALuflex have beem using these for a few years now after the Salomon week binding years. Shark has converted to Marker and trhe demos are ridiculously heavy, so I'm hoping the Look, Rossi's are ok.

Any opinions?

This video is the first video that our trainee Tim Lindacher at my agency made. I think he did a good job considdering, that this was the first contact with video editing software.

stupid as it goes i didnt manage to get to the Monopalooza again. the good thing is i am going to the SLC area for the next weekend - is there any place where i could demo a monoski? i have been riding my Duret Free 180 since 2004 (monoskiing since 1995 or so) and would like to try some of those new all-mountain shapes.

Hi all,

I've been wanting to try monoski'ing for a while now. But, unfortunately, rentals and demos are a little hard to come by here on the east coast. So I have a two-fold question. First, does anyone know anywhere on the east coast that rents or demos monoskis? And second, if the answer is no, and I have to buy one, what's a forgiving monoski that is good for breaking newbees into the sport?

Mounting Bindings?

I bought a 170 Duret Free and some Ff Non release bindings, however, the local ski shop refused to mount the bindings because of some liability issue. So I am now stuck halfway through my skiing season skiing on my old skis. I finally took the monoski back from the shop and am now trying to mount the bindings. Any help would be appreciated.

Choosing new boots for me is becoming overwhelming with all the new models and i need some help. I really like my old rear entry Nordica boots, but they have become a safety issue.

Can some members please let me know what kind of boots are being used.

Hey Skivinci, I'm curious where you have the toe plate mounted. I got the same board as you and it had the toe plate back all the way. I've moved it too the center position. The issue was lack of tail hold. It's better now but I think it could have more.

Hi, I've been monoskiing since the beginnings, lastly on a Swell Panik 192. Seeking for a shorter one among new tools and monoboards, what about Yama/Coda? Are they really performant both on powder and bumps? There are some clips on Coda'site, but I mean real powder and real bumps. Those are hard pressed slopes with 10 cm. of fresh snow and some ondulations! :-). I fear for the integrity of the V shaped tail on real deep bumps.
