It has a 10 m sidecut radius The waist is 19 cm and the tip and tail are 24 cm 170 cm length with an effective edge of 166 cm This is a very stable board that is quick edge to edge and has an excellent hold in all conditions. The V-zero is probably the best board for beginners and traditional monoskiers transitioning to carving. The V-zero gives the quick response of a Yama tool, while allowing for the possibility of the wash out familiar to those accustomed to old school monoski slide technique. However, these are just accomdations, as the V-zero design first and formost targets high speed, deep carving. It performs aggressively riding bumps, chutes, and park freestyling. A great all mountain board. Posts: 246 Nov 24 07 6:50 PM kamikazee Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The V-two-ten was originally concieved by Chad Houck. 2 cm wider than the original V-zero. 10 m sidecut radius The waist is 21 cm and the tip and tail are 27 cm 170 cm length with an effective edge of 166 cm The extra width of the V.2-10 allows for deeper carving without hitting your boots on the snow and gives extra surface area for the powder. The wider board does make it less quick from edge to edge than the V.0, but instead encourages long deep carves. This is a carving board. It is the same width at the waist as the V2-10 but the sidecut is more severe with a 9 m radius. The tip and tail are 28 cm, 170 cm length with an effective edge of 166 cm This board allowed me to make deep carves that were noticeably tighter and therefore quicker. It is 1 cm wider than the V2-10 for extreme carving with out booting out. 10 m sidecut radius. The waist is 22 cm and the tip and tail are 28 cm 170 cm length with an effective edge of 166 cm This model could be considered a monoboard because of its width. It was instantly successful for what it was intended, but it was also noticeably slower edge to edge when making quick turns. In the powder however, the extra surface area was a big plus. Only two of these have been made and one of them was riden in the powder in Alaska by Henry Hungerland. To quote him: "The V-Alaska rocked Alaska. Absolutely amazing in the pow, steeps, short turns, long turns,mostly long fast turns- like 12 turns down a 2000 foot 50 degree face." Jason Johnson road this board in Mammoth last season and preferred it to the V0-xl. Would like to explore the V2-9 board but would like to make the twin tails twin tipped those adding a tail kick ,this being 60 % of the nose profile.I note that this will increase the total board lenght by 7-10 cm. I also note that I think a back bone runnning down each tail would beneeded , this would give torrsional strength to each wing, which in a powered turn or close chute would provide that extra dimention { and get you out of the shit} with the aid of the twin tip preventing a dig in or stall.Please consider that the back bone idea should run up the centre of each tail, thus creating a power platform to the turn.{ having used the atomic skis the power tube concept they use would work well in the rear section .} think you may be able to work with this concept , cos i think we could be onto something, Andy Powder hunter Go high Go where the Eagles play

We do already put tail kicks on the ends of the legs. although the kick is not quite 60% of the nose shovel. As for the backbone, our core is not a traditional core and the legs are not profiled like the tails of all other skis. Posts: 144 Dec 2 07 3:05 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Ha Chad , building on the 60% tail kick could a tool be crafted with twin rear shovels, whilst retaining its contact edge length and profile of the V9-2 My point about torrsional leg {tail} strength is that if the mono is in a bridge situation {where by the shovel and the twin tail tips are the point of snow contact , thus supporting the rider, could each leg carry the riders weight,hence the backbone concept.secondly when in deep powder turns with the increased tail shovels at 6o% of the nose profile. the backbone would offer a stiffer flex allowing the tail to float up {rather like the trim plats as used on speed boats}whilst under weighted load And with 60% tailshovels the tool could work in tight gullies . Could such a tool be created ?? lets get Andy

Other than landing backwards off a jump or pipe, I don't see any purpose of a twin tip (tail kick). I have ridden plenty of tight chutes and deep powder fail and to see any reason a tail kick would be of any benefit for anything but going backwards. In powder you want the tail to sink not float, which is exactly what the split tail does. The only board that would be in a bridge situation would be a board that doesn't flex at all like the World Board of the early 90's. So, if you are the guy running steep narrow chutes backwards, post some photos!

I've been on mono's since the begining (aprox 30 yrs), and have been riding the Snow Shark-tiger shark model for 5 yrs. I live for many and tight turns especially in deep powder. Do you have any sugestions of yama's that would fit? Speed is not heavy concern, just tight fast S turns.

Posts: 5 Jan 31 08 11:06 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Okay, this is a newbs perspective, but hey, we are all there at some point. I'm in my second year Monoskiing, and this year the V0 has been my only ride (Last year I demo'd the V2 and V3, then decided to go with the V0 to get easier turning although Chad recommended the V2 for me). The V0 is much easier to get on edge, which I really notice when the slopes are full and I'm in accident avoidence mode, or when I've <cough> gotten over my head on a slope and need to scrub speed through a section - although as my technique and legs both get stronger so this is less of an issue. The V0 is also just plain fun, and good at keeping the turns where my 8 year old can follow my line down the blues and easy blacks. The edgehold is amazing (this is true on all the Yamas). That said, I've got a V2 on order now and I'm told will be ready for MonoP (hint hint). The V0 is great, and I plan to keep riding it, but I also want more board under me and to start working on carving. Besides, now I can try to convince my wife to give it a go, and have to give it up while she does (my knee prevents me from using dual sticks). About Yamas in general, they are FAST. I find alot of my time is spent slowing it down when I'm with anyone else on skis. And, yes, the split tail really does lift the nose in powder - it's amazingly effective, and you don't have to change your stance at all. The Boards are stiff, and they really do hold their edge like nothing else I've been on. Chad has been terrific to work with (hence the second board). The bottom line: I love 'em! YamaTool V0!!!!

Won one in the raffle......also much fun ! Went to Mammoth for the day and ripped about on one all day......verdict.......I gave back the one I'd won; ........... and paid some extra doe to have some special graphics done on a new beast !!!; that will be delivered by Chad and revealed at Utah 09.....! It rocks, it just rails......looking forward to trying it in the Utah POW; I reckon it will be awesome there too ! Chad, great day carving, thanks

Very forgiving in the powder. Very stable on high speed carves. Only problem I am personally having is during very deep carves, the packed snow is starting to pull off the top graphics at the tip of the ski at the "10 o'clock and 2 o'clock" positions. Would I buy another V-Alaska, yes without hesitation.
